Tweed Royal w/ Head Cabinet

Add to wishlist

4 tweed-era circuits in a single amp:

- 5F1 Champ
- 5F2a Princeton
- 5F10 Harvard
- 5E3 Deluxe

Output section: The Tweed Royal output section has a power amp that can switch between a single 6V6 tube, biased in class A, in a Single End (S.E.) configuration OR two 6V6 tubes, biased in class AB, in a Push-Pull (P.P.) configuration. For 5F1 Champ or 5F2a Princeon specs, turn the mode switch to S.E. mode. For 5F10 Harvard or 5E3 Deluxe specs, turn the mode switch to P.P.

PreAmp Section: The 5E3 Deluxe, 5F10 Harvard, and 5F2a Princeton all had the exact same tone knob. The 5F1 Champ did not have a tone knob. The tone knob on the Tweed Royal has a built-in switch. When you turn it full turn counter clockwise, it removes the tone knob from the circuit completely for 5F1 Champ specs. The Cut knob on the Tweed Royal controls a negative feedback loop just like the negative feedback loop found on the 5F1 Champ, 5F2a Princeton, and 5F10 Harvard (there was no knob for this on the originals. It was internally hardwired via a single resistor). The 5E3 Deluxe did not have a negative feedback loop. Just like the tone knob, the cut knob on the Tweed Royal has a built-in switch. When you turn it full turn counter clockwise, it removes the negative feedback loop from the circuit completely for 5E3 Deluxe specs.

As with all BYOC products, the Tweed Royal features the finest components available: custom wound Classic Tone brand transformers from Magnetic Components; F&T power filter caps; Mallory and Sprague caps throughout the rest of the circuit; carbon comp resistors; lacquered cloth coverd wire; JJ vacuum tubes, and a point-to-point turret lugged circuit board.

This kit comes with a finger jointed 13 ply birch cabinet in your choice of Black Tolex or Tweed. This does not include an extension cabinet. The extension cabinets in the pictures are only examples of what the head cab looks like with an extension cab. Please allow 3 weeks for delivery.
