Build Your Own Clone Message Board

Hey folks,

I just finished my Filter. Two problems.

1. I'm getting a "fuzz" (literally sounded like a fuzz pedal...cool but not what I'm after) when my range was all the way counter clockwise. I replaced the battery and this fixed it for about an hour. Its back.

2. I get static at random. The effect is still there and sounds as though its working correctly(like keith's youtube clip) it just has annoying static as it decays away.

I'm thinking its a voltage problem. I've got an SKB pedal board on the way. I'm wondering if this is a 9v only circuit or can I run this at 12 or 18v (like the screamer). I also put a high intensity LED in the circuit. I'm putting the stock LED in tonight. I'll see if that corrects the fuzz. I mean overall I love the sound when its working right, But the fuzz and static make it something I can't gig with.

Any help or guidance would be apprciated. Gut shots to follow....but its so pretty in there I think its right.

Hey folks,

Disregard this post. Its fixed. I pulled the stock caps and put in the bass mod. I also reflowed the IC. No static or fuzz now. I'm happy as a monkey in a bananna factory.

Glad to hear you go it fixed. Usually my first troubleshooting suggestion is to reflow the soldering, and many times that fixes it. Now turn it up and bother the neighbors!
