Here's a clip of me playing one of my BYOC kit pedals, the Armstrong Twin clone. I call it the 'compressionring'... the clip is a tele, pedal, 18 watt clone. It's kind of low in volume because it was kind of late here. I'm a huge fan of nasty distortion though, and that ringer / comp with a little overdrive from the amp is just insane tonally. You just have to hear it in the room!!

compressionring clip on youtube!

Anyway... what a great pedal! Thanks for all you guys do, BYOC!

Great clip!!! The only problem is that you're playing is so Gonzo that I forgot that I was supposed to be watching a pedal demo - LOL. If you got a band behind you that played as well as you do, I'd pay to see it :D Damn!!!

Thanks for the feedback guys! You know the more I play this pedal, the more I think about how awesome it would be (for me anyway) to just have it be compressor / ringer. Maybe instead of the pot switching modes, I could hook up another stomp switch - obviously I would have to relocate it to a bigger enclosure and all, but I would get so much mileage out of this thing being able to use either mode on the fly... standing up playing that is. :)

I sense yet another project.

I'm going to be working on that mod this next week. Should be pretty easy, actually.

Or you could just buy another Armstrong Twin kit and use two - LOL ;)

Nice stuff, JeffMN. It's always nice to see a fellow lanky player who "incorrectly" wraps their thumb around the fretboard.

It will be interesting to see what kind of switching logic people come up with for the A.T. kit. Maybe someone will use Stephen's "flipper". Just study the schematic first and keep in mind that the "in" of the squeezer circuit is hardwired to the "master in" by a trace so that when it's in ringer mode, signal is going to the squeezer circuit....it's just that the output from the squeezer circuit goes of into space. So you'll probably need to cut that trace.

This reminds me Keith... you're using 3P4T (and not 4P3T) switches for both this and the triboost kit... so there's a free position on the switch. Is that intentional? I've been looking at the exact thing you're mentioning; where to cut the trace etc; but haven't found an elegant way to use the fourth "secret mode" yet. On the triboost however, a dual boost / series connection mode is very easy to do.

(Oh, and that clip... was there a pedal, I never noticed it. Great playing!)

Is this how the pedal is supposed to sound? Because it sounds oddly different from Keith's demo. There it seems to sound more prenounced. Here it sounds more subtle.

I don't know if it's how it's 'supposed' to sound, but to me, it sounds awesome. I love it! Very trashy sounding!

The pedal's cool, but that tele is what gets me. It's my favorite color combo for a tele. Nice sounding amp too.
