So i have a big muff pi, the old green version, and i know they were made with cheap parts. if it were to break, would i be able to replace the internals with the large beaver kit, or would i need different size parts? i would like the original working...

I say just build the large beaver, its sounds good, and you might be able to rest your big muff a bit...

No, I totally get it, but think of the possibilities of making your own pedal look however you want, not to mention the real estate that the Beaver will clean up since the enclosure isn't as huge as the EH ones....I still say make it, and if it sounds like the one you like, play the hell out of that one, and keep the BYOC one as a backup....Then if something goes wrong, you might just be able to swap guts between the 2...

get the large beaver, put it in the big muff enclosure and you've got room for all kinds of mods.

It's unlikely your green muff one will stop working. If anything, the switch and jacks will be the first to go.

The green muffs are fairly collectable. i see them going for $150 +/- on ebay. I would just get the large beaver kit and keep the green muff as it is.

Before you go tearing into it, try one other battery. On my muff the effect and the bypass stop if even though the LED is shining bright when batteries go south. This is with batteries that are powerful enough to power other pedals (like a fuzz face).
