I *highly* recommend these:

http://www.amazon.com/Wiha-44527-Profes ... ha+tweezer

They hold most passive components (and many others) at exactly the right angle when you are soldering them. I've been using them lately and really like them.

I've seen a few more threads lately with SMD builds so I thought these might be of interest.

Those look awesome! And they are ESD rated as well. Sweet.

Damn, I think I'd have to sell a kidney to get one of those. I'd love to try SMD stuff though.

They are sort of midrange for tweezers, which can actually get quite pricey. $60 isn't uncommon for the nicer ones.

On a budget, you can buy cheap thin tweezers for a few dollars and bend the tip, but I really like these and find they are worth a bit more.

Well, I certainly can't make that claim. A few years ago, I was modifying a cellular headset and I dropped one of the 0402 resistors on the berber carpet in my office. Lacking a replacement at the time, I tried to find it until I realized that I was more likely to find Jimmy Hoffa than an 0402 resistor.

Essentially a splinter forceps. Good for eyebrows too.
