Hi Folks,
Here's my little Cave Dweller I put together recently, it's the first and only 1590a build I've done. Thanks to all the tips provided by guitarmageddon and the other SmallBox Ninjas it wasn't as traumatic as I had expected it to be. At first it didn't work but I found out is was due to one tiny filament of one of the wires didn't get pushed through to pad hole and was shorting out on the board. Fixed that and it works great. I haven't really used a delay much I'm still kind of figuring out how to use it, but it sounds pretty cool so far.

It does seem to reduce a lot of treble when I turn it on and I was wondering if there was something I could look at to try add some back.  On the other hand, when it's on it totally eliminates all the hum I usually get from my noisy power source  ;D so I'm liking that part of it . . .

Man, that's a beautiful build!
Copper with blue trim- very cool. 8)
Funny you should mention that treble loss, mine does that too...I was planning on building a second one to rule out a flaw in my build.
I now suspect it's more to do with the 'minimal' nature of the circuit.
I do like how it sounds though, it's great for volume swells and other ambient noodling.

Great work there, buddy!!!

Mine does the same thing, I used a b25k on Time just because high settings on 50k I was getting some ugly noises. Cough it up to low filtered PT2399 iffyness :D

It is also pretty Dark, but the way I look at it - it's such a great vintage style Delay, you might as well just accept that it's taking your tone into a dark tape echo sound

Sweet little build Gray. Great look and kudos for dealing with the 1590a. Looks clean.

Cool! Check it out everybody, I'm International!! :D

I actually like the dark & mid-fi echos quite a lot, I just wish the initial signal wasn't so lossy. It's weird, I was listening to 'Bean's demo of his Cave Dweller prototype and it doesn't seem to do that. There's almost no difference, seems like, when he switches the effect on. I just wonder if I got a value wrong somewhere. I kind of hate to pull it out of the enclosure to look, not sure I could get in back in there right.

Very nice! Clean machine there.
Are the EKO letters stickers or decal?

they're just stickers from Michael's. I didn't realize they were puffy and sparkly until I got home and looked at them in better light.

From what Ive heard and for what its worth - it's a common theme in the build ( signal difference ), just because its so minimally filtered. I enjoy it as well though :D

But man, still love that setup, great use of the 1590A!
