I don't mean like through the website called "meetup", but I like the idea.

Over the past few years, I've had the pleasure of meeting a small number of BYOC folks. I'd like to expand on that in the coming months, because I feel like the community is getting better as we go along.

It seems like we are in regional pockets (as one might imagine), so maybe that is a good place to start? You guys in the super-cool Pacific Northwest can just show up at BYOC's back door with sleeping bags and demand quarter. Well, maybe not, but it's cool that you're close enough to try that kind of stunt!

I would be happy to host and/or help coordinate a meetup in the (lower) northeast. Lots of options here. However, you will have to be okay with extreme profanity and perhaps a fair bit of nudity.

Anybody from Texas want to get something going? I know we have a lot of Texas guys here.

How's about everybody's favorite swing state Ohio?

And how about North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee? You guys would have madbean!

I am obviously leaving out quite a few areas. Just wanted to get the ball rolling. :D

I'm into it. There's a couple Pittsburgh area kids, and I've only had occasion to meet one, but I guess it would make sense to drive out your way for a larger meetup anyhow ... let's do it. I'll bring some beer, and a gut to match.

Hey, it's up for debate. If there are more folks down your way, it might make more sense to swing it all down there. It depends on who is down for the trip!

I think I might be able to put up about 6 or 7 people in my house. If we get more than that, I'll start figuring out something else. Well, 6 people assuming non-college conditions. If people are down with college conditions, the limit goes up to about 12.

I'M IN!!!!

Where are you, CJ? Aren't you in New Jersey? I'd be in for a trip to NJ.

Also, I've mentioned a New England meetup before, and I wouldn't mind hosting that one.. although I'm not exactly centrally located in New England.

This sounds like fun, although there aren't very many western New York guys on here. One other Rochester guy I've seen, and DVM is a couple hours down the thruway. In another stage of life, I'd happily trek to NYC or Cleveland, but unfortunately not this year. Robert, I'm heading to Pittsburgh in late June for a Phish concert and a Pirates game, but it's probably too quick a turnaround to even drop in on a meetup.

Guess I'll watch it unfold and see what happens!

I'm in the Albany NY area. NYC or Boston areas are workable for me.

Harrisburg, PA here. Depending on where and how long this thing lasts, I may be down for a little bit of a trip. Any excuse to take off work is a good one. I'm still really new at this, but at least it would give you someone to laugh at (especially if i get enough booze in me).

Hard for me to get away from home for too long, but I'd like to think I'm down for a northeast meetup. Powerpopguy literally lives down the street from me, so if there's a need for a southeastern New England meeting place, I got us covered since there's at least one member who could almost walk to my house  Most of CT is an easy strike from us, we live right next to RI and Rhode Island, no joke, takes 45 minutes to cross from MA to CT.

Ironically (do they have irony in Canada? not sure), you're probably one of the closest members to me. Just a quick jaunt around Lake Ontario, eh?

Or across - don't you guys have ferrys that run from every single city and town on each side of the lakes to each other?

Any pedal builders in Southern Maine? I'd meet up.

Ha. Yeah! We actually went to a wedding in Rochester and while back and ended up on the wrong side of Chili street (that sounds very strange now that I read it...).

Immigration would love that. We actually need a passport to get in/out of the US now. Blah.

Ha! That was my call to all the other Canucks on this board to get a meetup going. You guys can't have all the fun!

A bit of a sore spot for Rochesterians. Our former mayor pushed through a Rochester-Toronto ferry at a cost of about $42 million, and of course it was a flop. But we're all still paying for it, because the boat got resold for about $10 million.

Born and raised in Buxton, but as they say… that was a long time ago. I pass through once a year on our way to vacation, but sadly that's about it.

I actually think that would go over swimmingly. Keith is very accommodating...as long as one brings beer.
