Successful completion of my first (insanely complex) build. Stays true to its namesake, I'm ready to take on a Shredder on my next day off. I think I got the hang of the soldering iron, though I haven't got it down to a science yet. Any tips or critiques are welcome, always looking to improve

Cool, but you're not done yet...trim those excess leads.

Ok, I was wondering about that. I'll clean that up, but what happens when you don't?

When you box things up and space gets tight, you risk the leads shorting out on a pot or jack...pedal no worky. Get into the habit now.

Will do. What should I use to cut them? I was using the wire strippers before but they don't work for this and the wire cutters aren't sharp enough. I don't want to pull too hard and risk breaking a joint.

Wait until you get a proper pair of clippers.....Hardware store, craft store or Radio Shack should have them.

I got a nice pair of nippy clips at Radio Shack for about $5. I love 'em.

Definitely was, not so much now that I started out the Shredder kit on the wrong foot.
