Finally built the BYOC Vibrato. Only took a few years.

I haven't 100% dialed it in yet, but man, does it sound great already. I did use sockets for the transistors, just in case I put one in the wrong spot, but with the board mounted pots, board sits a bit too close to the back plate, so I had to bend them. No issue.

And this was my first paint jobs since last summer, nothing great, but the usual, easy-to-hide-blemishes, hard-to-f**k-up, purple/pink speckled job.

I will being adding Vibe parts to a bunch tunes over the next few days!

That finish looks cool! 8)

What do you use for the «speckle»?

I like the paint job too.

Two footswitches, that for two speeds, or momentary activation?

I've been doing speckled for years......it is easy and allows for a huge margin of error. I just lay one base coat, let dry, then lay another base coat and while it is still wet, I "mist" another color or two from far away.

Stock is momentary, which I never use but then I'm just a home hacker. I think there is a mod where you pull that mom switch and put a toggle in there but can't recall all the details of it.

I like you way of working, randomly applied finish, that give some error «manoeuvre», I feel at home in that! :)

i like how you do your wiring. makes more sense.

I'm going to wire up my reverb pedal when the paint fully cures (2 more days...), and will probably do it that way. Any tips?

Oh, you mean from under the board? If so.....yeah, I don't understand the other way, when using a double sided boards. Why expose the wires?
