Hi guys, here's the Large Beaver I finished up yesterday. I'm really happy with this one. Both in sound and looks. Unfortunately lots of schmaltz in the paint (including a... erm... hair stuck on the base) but all in all I'm very pleased. Schlitz is slang for vagina in German btw. I thought it was a good fit.

Inkjet and printed on white but with a tan background so I could cut around the shape and not have the edges be so obvious. You can see them though if you look closely as the colors don't match up exactly.

Thats pretty sweet! How did you create the logo? Was it a scan or did you make it youre self? If the latter, what program did you use?

I copied the logo in Adobe Illustrator... except for the "Schlitz" lettering and the globe. The first I got at brandsoftheworld.com and the latter from an image I found on a Google search. I actually mapped everything out in Illustrator using a template I made with the control locations so I could reliably work out where to place everything. I should share the templates actually... I have one for the tri-boost as well. I'd have to clean 'em up a bit but if anyone would find them useful I can post them.

Hi Jay,
Please, Please please! (James Brown's 1s t hit). I'm so lost in illustrator, and it's vector based, instead of photoshop (which I use) that is pixel based. Would love to see your templates (with a bit of instruction, if you wouldn't mind)

Thanks!
Geek

Sure thing. I probably won't get to it before the weekend but I will indeed post them up.

Not that I'm not willing to help or answer questions, but if you want to learn more about Illustrator I suggest grabbing the "Adobe Classroom in a Book." I learned a ton about Photoshop with this book over 10 years ago. Sometimes it seems almost as much as I've learned since and I use PS 5-6 hours a day. I would imagine the illustrator one is equally good.

I'll take a gut shot this weekend.

I've got the templates made. They can be found here...

Large Beaver
Tri-Boost

They're PDFs but they're still editable in Illustrator. Or just open them in Photoshop or something similar. Let me know if there are questions about them and I'll do my best to help.
