I just got some reverb kits and the screws are too small for the threads on the enclosures. Yiu can drop 'em in and shake 'em back out. No thread traction at all.

Anybody else run into this?

Meanwhile, I love the changeover to 9V jacks that thread on from outside the enclosure. Awesome!

I had this happen with both BBOD pedals I bought. I'm sure BYOC would replace the screws for you, but I figured it'd be faster and simpler just to go to my local hardware store and buy some new ones.

This was the BYOC verb?

Yes. Out of 7 kits (48 screws) one of them works! And it looks just like the other screws. The holes are threaded but the screws are just a hair too small.

Yeah, I guess it'll be ACE later tomorrow... hopefully they've got the right screws...

Whoa, did not read your initial post very carefully. For 47 mis-sized screws, I might be inclined to make a request from the service department. :)

I think I would let Keith know and head out to ace. 48 screws is what $1.50 or so ?

On the jack, I'm not a fan of the nut on the outside jacks, although they are easier to remove the board, jacks, etc if you need to troubleshoot somehting, I just don't like he way they stick out. I've added extra spacers on the inside to reduce the amount it protudes, but I guess I am more on an innie than an outie when it comes to jacks.

I like to connect the wires to the PCB and then to the 9V jack, then install 9V jack on the enclosure, and that's only doable with the outside washer mount. And yeah, troubleshooting's alot easier.

I've emailed Keith, so hopefully they can figure out what happened. Meanwhile, ACE.....

Yep, me too. Just got a reverb kit last week that had the 125-size screws in it. I happened to have 1590-size screws on hand so I just changed them out. I'm sure BYOC will fix you up.

They totally did. I have to say, BYOC always comes thru -- they sent me the correct screws immediately. Top shelf, once again.

I'm missing lots of screws for enclosures as well
Not ones ordered from byoc but still hammond
I've ordered replacements a couple times but both times ordered the wrong size
what size are these screws?

man, somebody needs to engineer a DC jack that attaches with an outside nut, but protrudes less.. that would make so many DIYers happy.. It seems pretty easy to figure out, just move the (flange?) to the middle of the body, so the barrel is half in, half out.

Here's an artist's conception I just whipped up..

I'd just email BYOC, PPP, or Small Bear and let them know exactly what enclosures you need screws for, because they are all different. Give them the make (hammond, new sensor, etc) and the model (1590B, 1290B, 125, etc).

Hmm, I had this problem with the case for my Reverb too. I thought it was just a crap case - I never thought to try replacement screw.

That said, I've had a few emails backwards and forwards with Keith and have not got a replacement yet. *shrug*

Perhaps time to try again?

R.

Yes. It may be helpful if you link to this thread in your email.
