I just built the 5 knob compressor (with help from my brother). It works fine, on off, nice clean sound, sustain works, level works and ration works fine as well.
But the attack and tone knobs seem not to effect the sound at all. It sounds to me as if those two are constantly fully open, cutting the bass and producing strong attack, resulting in a very sharp, agressive sound.
What's wrong?

And how can I upload the necessary pictures?

The attack and tone can be subtle, but you should hear a differance. There is a tutorial on how to post pictures in the DIY section. Pictures would help diagnose. Something to check though - Make sure the you have the right pots in the right place.

OK, Here goes:
I checket the order of the pots and they are all in the right place.
We did notice that one of the small glass diodes is "wrong" on the PSB. It is pictured in the opposite direction from what's in the instructions. However, I have version 2.1 and the instructions are for version 2. So we decided to do it according to the PCB. Are there any other things like that we could have missed?

Here are some bad pictures for what they're worth.

The pictures are a little too blurry to be much help. Try the macro setting on your camera if it has one. It usually has a picture of a flower on it.

As far as the pedal goes, make sure you go over your component placement really well. You could also try reflowing your joints.

New clear pics would be helpful if you could.

OK, I finally got the necessary information: I sat down with my brother and we started measuring the parts one by one and it turned out, that the attack and tone knobs simply cannot have any effect, because the pots are broken. Could I get a set of new and working ones please? Thank you.

What makes you think that the pots are broken?

Did you desolder them and measure their resistance?

Also, keep in mind that the tone control is only a bass cut knob. It will not add bass, only remove it.
