My bass player was asking me (after seeing the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe) if there was a fuzz kit/layout that has a clean blend. I was able to find the buff -n- blend and paramix threads, but my search has thus far yielded no results. Doea anyone know if there is a kit or layout for a non-octave fuzz with a blend?

So, the only fuzz pedals that I can find with a clean blend are the Ampeg Scrambler and Fender Blender (and their clones) which are octave fuzzes, and not what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of any others. I'm looking to have one pedal, instead of a fuzz pedal and a blend pedal.

I think what people normally do is build a buff-n-blend or paramix type circuit in to the pedal. So, no need for two separate pedals - just one pedal, with an extra blend knob. I've been wanting to try this myself, but I haven't gotten around to it.

There's an excellent layout in the Schematic Vault, called Buff n'Blend by Guitarmageddon.

Yeah, I'd seen that thread, but I can't see the layout (or most pictures in the forum) on this computer. I don't know how that goes into another layout, which is why I was asking if there was something already out there. For that question, I'm guessing the answer is no.

Thanks anyway, though.

The General Guitar Gadgets Brassmaster is a bass fuzz that dosnt have a single blend control, but has one for dry signal and one for wet, which is more work to set up (but allows for more fidelity of control) but does the same thing in the end. It also has a "Harmonics" switch which when off takes the ocave out of it. And it is a wicked nasty fuzz, the bassist I gave the one I made to loves it!

If you do go that route, 2 things to know. If you get the kit from GGG, the enclosure that comes with the kit is a rediculously tight fit. I would really reccomend going with a 1590BB Tall to get some extra height for extra room to manouver. Second, it can get loud, like crazy amp destroying loud. I would really reccomed adding an additional master volume pot, which is described in a post over at MadBean's forum, just search for Maestro Brass Master (or my username) and you will find it.

The reason I maded that layout freestanding was so it could paired with just about any other curcuit.
Joining it to another layout is as simple as connecting the send to the input and the return to the output of whatever you want to blend with.
I built a fuzz for bass recently combining a whiskerbuscuit fuzz with a B-Blender, same principle, fuzz is in the loop of the b-blender.

I've just completed the modification on a bass fuzz that i built couple months ago for a customer, you can find the build in the showoff section called, A Stain in a Perfectly Blue Sky.

I've just added this blend layout to it and it's absolutely awesome!

Going to deliver it back to the customer right away.

A really nice addition to that already intense pedal!
