Hi there, I´m a newbie from Germany and managed to get two BYOC PCB´s over here. Actzally I´m starting to collect all the parts for the TriBoost and have two questions:

1. Do I need a simple on/on SPDT toggle switch or an on/off/on type ?

2. The orientation of the germanium transistor is easy to see, but I can´t find the pinout of the 2N5088 and the BS170 on the PCB or inside the PDF instructions. As you may know, both transistors have the common TO92 casing but can have different pinouts, eg. typical japanese, european or US pinouts. Anyone knows the orientation on the PCB ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

The build instruction clearly state that the SPDT switch needs to be an on/off/on type.

The 5088 goes in just like it is silk screened on to the pcb. There is a spot that looks like the letter "D" The flat side of the 5088 matches the flat side of the letter "D". Same goes for the other transistor.

Hi Stephen, thanks for your help, now everything is clear to me ! The confusion with switches and transistors is a common thing over here, because as you may know we don´t use terms like SPDT, SPST etc. and often european produced transistors have the regular TO92 casing but use a different pinout. Since I stepped into this trap several times (US made PCB´s in conjunction with european transistors) I learned to ask BEFORE I start to solder ;-)
