Total noob here. Second build, and this one drove me batty yesterday. My opticomp works fine in bypass. The led comes on when I hit the switch, but there's no sound. I tried switching out the ic with a different op-amp (the one in the photo is actually the one that came with the env/fw I'm having issues with in another thread, I broke the legs off the first one in my frustrated fumbling.)

My good camera is at my gf's, so that's about the best picture I could get. If no one comes up with the solution off this, I'll post some better shots of the top and I'll pull the jacks out and get a shot of the underside. I have access to a multimeter, but don't know what to do to test out the circuit voltages.

Any ideas off the bat? What did I forget to say?

Don't know if there is enough to go on there. Pics of the underside is usually a telltale sing.

Got any shots of the solder side of the PCB that are in crystal clear focus?

You have many solder joints that are either cold, solder starved or both. Pins 3 and 4 of the op-amp look particularly bad. I'd recommend going back over all of them and adding a bit more solder and make sure you get good heat transfer. When you have good heat transfer the solder should flow easily (as if it were mercury) and have a nice shiny, smooth conical shape to it.

Thanks so much. That's all it took. I think i know what to look out for going forward. Look out for me in the completed build forum once i've done the same for my envelope filter.

That was the quickest no-workey to workey conversion I've seen in quite a while! Congrats on your new comp! :D And good work Stephen! 8)
