So Patrickbrose gave us a link to this http://led-switch.com/

The price sure seems right.

I am in need of building a little toggle stash and this fits perfectly for me. Naturally I have no idea on the quality of these toggles. I was going to order a handfull or so, but then thought I would gauge a little interest on this.

I can do one of two things. I can order me a few toggles and LED's and see what I think. I may want to send one to someone who knows a lot more than me to get their "gigging" opinion on the quality as I'm sure it will fit my bedroom hacker needs. If all checks out I'd be happy to spend the time on a group buy if enough interest. It seems this guy likes to put the number at 25 items on toggles, with other amounts for other things before any discounts apply. Even without them, the prices seeems good.

Or we can just jump in all together and pray they are of decent quality :?

Any interest at all in this?

I would like to see someone vouch for the quality. Those are stock pics.

You need to put a pencil to the shipping figures to see if it pans out.

We had good margins on the recent switch/pot/jack group buy, but it only really worked for orders of $40.00-50.00 and up. Guys spending $400-500 saw great savings, but I don't think anyone needs that many toggles or LEDs.

I might be in, but it will all come out to whether you can leverage better prices for a group buy than individuals can do themselves.

Thanks Chris for the tips. Then I may get a handful of things first. I did email him to get some info on shipping.

Ok, I'll just order me some stuff up...unless he tells me it costs $20 to ship to me and then FORGET IT

On my order I got:
(1) 20amp 125V Toggle (power switch) Very heavy duty and solid feeling. It is just like the type you get at a home-improvement store.
(1) DPDT on/off/on basic toggle for pedal building. Seems decent. About the same as the switches I got a bit back from Tayda. They are not quite as good as some, but very useable.
(1) SPST momentary pushswitch. I planned to use this as a kill switch on my tele project, but it is crazy small, so no go there.
(10) Red/Greed 3 lead LEDs. They look good, but haven't put power to them yet.
(1) 12 spot 6 amp terminal block. Just like what you see at Rat Shack.
Total shipping was $2.29
Actually, everything looks and feels as good as Rat Shack stuff. So there you go.
Oh yes and the parts that I got look exactly like the ones in the pictures.

Not seeing the allure of this place, especially for a group buy.

Tayda sells LEDs for 1/2 or 1/3 of the price as this site. Plus, their switches start out higher priced and even with the quantity discount only get 10-12% less than Tayda, after like 100 pieces. Plus everyone who orders will be paying almost double shipping.

But don't let me rain on the parade.....

Buy on, group!

I ordered from them because they had the heavy-duty switch, the terminal block and the Red/Green LEDs, Tayda didn't.

I don't think the site or stuff is bad at all.

But Group Buys only make sense when you can knock 25-30% of the per piece price on the merchandise.

Saving a buck a switch on 3PDTs makes postage sensible, and it is just plain harder to do on less expensive items, unless peeps are buying way long on LEDs and toggles.

That makes perfect sense....you got what you wanted/needed and didn't overpay. Their prices are good for a single customer, but not group buy worthy on the Toggles and LEDs. JMO, though.

Well, I was needing some opinions I guess. They have on/off switches which for the life of me I don't know why that particular switch is hard to find. Tayda, SB and Mammoth don't sell a SPDT or DPDT on/off. Mouser does but I don't like their prices at all.

The group buy was really for toggles. The LED is really a toss in if you will as he has more variety than most. I ain't dealing with Mouser and the like websites for LED's.

Their shipping sounds low, per Patrick so that is a plus for individuals for sure. So never mind. Rob killed it :P

No, you are right DC. Jumped the gun I guess. I'll just order my on/off and 10mm's there and be done with it...oh and a few lighted toggles too because well....where else would I get some like that.

No wrong in trying TN! Shame on you DC being killjoy  (stomach flu virus victim from orange perloid P90 addressed to Sweden)

Edit: DC! I just came home from an epic space rock jamsession featuring the orange P90.
We got 28 min of material recorded, so thanks I guess :P

Yeah Fredrik, I had premature groupulation I guess. Happens to the best of us especially as we get older :|

Didn't mean to be a killjoy. I told you guys....Buy on, group. I was just saying.

And TNBH, no need to search out special ON/OFF switches. Just buy an ON/ON and don't use the other outer lug. Plus if you only buy ON/ON, you can use it for either.......Why buy 10 ON/OFF and 10 ON/ON, when you can buy 20 ON/ON that can serve either purpose?

Well, that sure as heck answers why no one carries it  . In my "logical" mind, I surmised that this would not work...I should have asked I guess. I figured it's on/on and that's it, plain and simple. This is why I try not to assume anything if I can....I'm always wrong it seems

Ok, this whole thread now is in the shitter  Feel free to "SQL" it

Hey, TN, you upped your post count with good intentions and gain a bit of info......solid thread, in my book. (Of course, not worthy of subscription, but crbmoa is a bass player, so cut him a bit of slack).

Well to further denigrate my rambling and useless thread...since these are 12v toggles I "assume" you need a 12v source to power them?

If true then this is officially the worst thread I have ever started.....and that is saying something :|

Sometimes lugs do matter, for weird reasons- my Tremble tremolo is layed out in such a way that half of the toggle switch must sit under the PCB. As such, I have a devil of a time sourcing short-bat, submini SPST toggle switches. If I can only find SPDT (often the case), then I have to hack off one of the lugs with a pair of tin snips, which I hate doing.

Yeah.. this just seemed like a good place to vent..

I have a small order in with these guys, including some of the LED toggles, and will report back on quality. I am not holding my breath though, when I look at the pics, there is one little bit of plastic connecting the toggle to the rest of the switch, and I am thinking one good missplaced stomp and it is gonzo. I also got some of the toggle protectors too though so??

I always avoid the sub-mini switches because they are so fragile. I have one of the standard toggles for my amps power supply and a miniature toggle for my fat/bright switch. Both feel really substantial and solid.

THanks Patrick, I was just meaning the light up toggles (im not a huge fan of sub-mini toggles anyways, too small for my fat fingers). I am worried about this part:
