This may be old info...

But to anyone who is looking for those sweet, brown Vishay mil spec resistors, be warned. During a recent Mouser order, I made the mistake of ordering some RN series 1/4-watt resistors and some CMF55 series resistors. The RN and RL series are actually 1/2-watt size, and you'll likely have some trouble fitting those on a pcb designed for 1/4-watt resistors. The CMF55 series are actually 1/4-watt sized.

So, if you find yourself ordering mil-spec Vishay resistors - stay away from the RL and RN series and order the CMF55 series. :D

Late breaking news out of Truckee, CA.....

Earlier today a local hat-wearing guitarist and Nels Cline fan miraculously saved dozens of DIY pedals builders from flooding their "What the F do I do with these" bins. While the initial damage was speculated to be minimal and only financial in nature, experts claimed that prolong flooding of these bins directly & negatively affects the nation's divorce rate and corrodes the ability of surviving builders to relate to non-DIY pedal users. When questioned about his altruistic actions, the hero's only response was "Mojo, baby" before breaking out in tears during the solo section of 'Ashes of American Flags'.

This is confusing me, on Mouser RN60D resistors are the 1/4 watt, wich are bigger than the one we normally use. RN55D being the 1/8 watt and are sized as our normal 1/4 watt resistor.

Is there something i'm not getting?

Mil Spec = 1 size lager than standard.

(cue the jokes about "my penis is mil-spec")

Yes, you weren't accounting for my usual ambiguous pitfalls. I should have specified that I was talking about the RN60 series. I didn't get any RN55's and didn't really know that they were 1/8-watt rated, 1/4-watt sized. I'm just saying stay away from the RN60 series, and that CMF55's are 1/4-watt rated and 1/4-watt sized.

 You kill me DC...how could you know that I break into angry/frustrated tears every time I attempt Nels' version of the Ashes solo?
