Did you go with UPS or USPS?

I was confused here...it defaults to UPS, and wanted to charge me something like 15 bucks. USPS was only 5 dollars.

Same here. USPS was pretty cheap.

These knobs. http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SK10 ... 0-1607.htm

I think my only option was UPS, I prefer USPS as an option and try to go with that when I can.
I will prolly give them a try again, just not on the knobs.

if you try them again, on the checkout page there should be two drop boxes in the 'choose your shipping method' area. The first has two choices "UPS" and "Other Carriers". Choose other. Then the second box will have USPS.

I do not know how they expect them to hold, the sides are not even solid, they are ribbed as if meant to press on or something.

I am selling ring mod kits and most of the parts came from Mammoth. I've been really happy with everything I ordered from them. The drilled enclosures are a steal.

Ya the enclosures are what really got me it would be nice if they had some more hammertone/vein style finishes though but i realize they're just starting out.

What kind of ring mod kit? I may be interested in the future

SNEAKY MAMMOTH!

I put a bunch of items in my shopping cart yesterday, then didn't pull the trigger because I wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. I left my browser window open but minimized. Lo and behold, I went back to the computer to place my order this morning and noticed that mysteriously, in the dead of night, the quantities of every item in my cart had been multiplied by four! Beware the sneaky mammoth.

Also, their UPS shipping rates are dubiously high, but USPS seems reasonable. I'm guessing they may not have a corporate UPS account set up yet and are paying "retail" UPS rates. Judging by my order number and how long they've been open, they may simply not have the volume of business for UPS to discount for them.

i think if you hit refresh when you have the cart up, it will add everything to the cart again.

But ups uses usps  so just ship usps to cut out the middle man and extra charges

And Poly Film Caps now, too! Maybe not the lowest price ever, but not bad if you need a few at the time of your order! :D

PS- I just had another very satisfactory customer service dealing with Mammoth.. it's pretty much my go-to place for pots, knobs and enclosures now.

I just ordered 15 painted drilled enclosures, 45 "Davies" knobs, 15 mono & 15 stereo jacks, 50 LED's, 30 LED bezels, and a bunch of odds and ends and shipping was about $12 and change. That's amazing. The enclosure ordering was a snap. It took me 10 minutes on Mammoth to create and order 15 painted drilled enclosures... the only thing they didn't have that I needed are the power jacks with the nut on the outside. I only use that type now... I'm going to email Mammoth and see if they can get them...

I like the folks at PPP and they have a huge selection of great colors, far better than Mammoth's, but my gripe is that the enclosure ordering process is just too cumbersome, that and I don't like the way they over calculate shipping charges and then refund any overcharge after it ships. I want to know, for sure, my total cost when I buy something because that affects what I order. I don't like having to wait until after it ships and "hope" I get a refund. Those just may be deal breakers for me going forward...

Really Barry? I just placed my first order yesterday.....

35 Pots, 1 Enclosure, 3 Knobs, a few transistors, diodes and ICs.

Product Subtotal: $48.84
Tax: $0.00
Shipping & Handling: $10.12
Discounts: -$3.14

Grand Total: $55.82

I was think the shipping was a little much, but guess the pots are heavy.

Ok, got my stuff... everything looks "ok". I absolutely hate the color called "Antique Brass"... it's sort of a goldish tan with large (and I mean large) bright lime green sparkly flakes in it, perfect color if I was building a pedal for Hanna Montana... (WTFIUWT) ... over all the other painted enclosure look fine, the ones I have from PPP's are noticeably better in my opinion... probably order enclosures from them going forward...

Here's a tid-bit I found on Mammoth's site... their return policy absolutely sucks as far as I'm concerned... so be careful ordering painted enclosure 'cause if you don't like the color you'll need to buy some paint... hope we get a warm day here soon... I have 5 butt-ugly enclosures to repaint... 8)

The "Risk of loss" is my favorite part, I'll bet that's how they keep shipping costs down...

My experience was pretty good. Ordered 12:45 Wednesday afternoon. About 1.5 hours got an e-mail it shipped. Package was at my house at 11:30 Friday. Less than 48 hours. Pretty sweet OK to NY.

Pots are great. Alpha solder lugs that are the real deal.

My enclosure (Black Textured) looks good. Nice paint job. Barry is right. Something about the PPP seem better, but I have no issue with the Mammoth one.

The rest of the stuff was as expected. Nothing new here.

They stuck it all comfortably in a $4.85 Flat Rate Priority box, but charged me $10.12 Shipping and Handling (You'd have to go to the airport and visit your local TSA agent to get handling more excessive than that). So I feel a little ripped.

Overall, I say 7 out of 10. Deducting 1 point for the "slghtly inferior to PPP" enclosure and 2 points for fondling the knobs, shafts and box so excessively before shipping.

I'd say for switches, jacks, pots, and passives they are a real player. And the ease of ordering the enclosure (and price and speed, too), make up for the slightly weaker enclosure.

They we be getting more of my business, which leads me to this...................

Their black textured enclosure looks awesome... The black sparkled is not quite as cool.

I don't see where to choose my enclosure color. Is it at the checkout stage?

****Nevermind, apparently it's only on the 1590BB and DD enclosure, I see the color choices now on the smaller sizes.

Not impressed:
Order in parts was $90.
Shipping paid to Mammoth was $21.15 UPS (because it was shipping to Canada, USPS was not an option - I checked many times to make sure).
Then at the door, I was charged $43.90 'brokerage and taxes' to UPS.
I paid $65.05 in just shipping and handling! That's 2/3rds the price of what I can actually tangibly hold in my hands!
In all of my orders before with Smallbear, EC, Futurlec, Tayda, and PPP, I've never been charged COD.

I've emailed Mammoth but I won't be a return shopper.
